This is the Avro Vulcan hand crafted wooden model part of a series of exceptional museum quality models. They are faithfully reproduced in kiln dried Mahogany. Each is carved, joined and sanded by hand. The deep, rich finish that distinguishes these models from others is created by the application of up to 35 coats of enamel. Avro Vulcan B2 XH588 G-VLCN Owned by C. Walton Ltd. Presently at Brunting Thorpe Airfield British Aviation Heritage, Worcestershire. Vulcan’s first flew in 1952 This aircraft is presently being restored to flight status after gaining a heritage lottery fund award. Scale model of XH588 appeared in the 1965 James Bond film “Thunderball”.
