CH Products has brought a classic back to life with the Flightstick Pro USB. This solid, ambidextrous controller has set the standard for all joysticks past and present

The Flightstick Pro USB features a unique ambidextrous design, somewhat reminiscent of the USAF F-15's grip. Across the top, a single hatswitch and three buttons are laid out in a symmetrical pattern, with a large trigger mounted on the leading edge of the grip. Button placement is excellent, for both right and left handed gamers, and each responds with a reassuring click when depressed.

The base of the Flightstick is wide, which means no cheesy suction cups here. A simple throttle wheel sits on the left side of the base, and veteran gamers will be pleased to find actual trim wheels for both pitch and yaw. As the owner of several USB controllers that will not center due to excessive play, trim wheels should be considered a mandatory feature. The stick uses an unusual centering mechanism, that feels slightly different than standard controllers, but during actual gameplay, is as smooth as any controller on the market. The tension is not adjustable, but the factory setting is near perfect; light to the touch but not loose.

Adding to the realism is a mechanical trim wheel mounted on the left side of the yoke case. This notched wheel allows you to adjust the center of the yoke on the fly and “trim” the aircraft by actually moving the calibration center of the yoke. The right side of the yoke case mounts two switches. and like all buttons and switches on the CHFlight Sim Yoke, they are completely programmable to any of the commands in your game. For that last bit of realism and control the Flight Sim Yoke has a mini version of the Throttle Quadrant mounted on the top right side of the case. This allows you to assign any three simulator commands to the three levers. Including but by no means limited to Throttle, Propeller Pitch, and Fuel Mixture.
