This is a standalone USB ADF module that works in FSX / FS2004, ASA On Top and Elite software. It can used on its own or as part of your own build as you can stack.
This ADF from Elite Simulations is based on the Bendix King KR 87 fitted into many aircraft.

ADF (Automatic Direction Finder) is the radio signals in the low to medium frequency band of 190 Khz. to 1750 Khz. It is widely used today. It has the major advantage over VOR navigation in the reception is not limited to line of sight distance. The ADF signals follow the curvature of the earth. The maximum of distance is dependent on the power of the beacon. The ADF can receive on both AM radio station and NDB (Non-Directional Beacon). Commercial AM radio stations broadcast on 540 to 1620 Khz. Non-Directional Beacon operate in the frequency band of 190 to 535 Khz.
The signal is sent to the ADF control box and this system works just the same in Flight Simulation using this box. In this equipment the frequency tuned is displayed as digital readout. ADF automatically determines bearing to selected station and it on the RMI.
About the real KR87 ADF RRP: £2299.99
The KR 87 offers superb dependability in a compact, attractive TSO'd unit. It provides accurate bearing-to-station in the 200 kHz to 1799 kHz frequency range, complete with ADF, ANT and BFO tuning modes, plus audio output for station identification and monitoring AM broadcasts.
The KR 87's advanced "coherent detection" design rejects unwanted frequency noise and achieves much greater range while remaining less susceptible to engine noise, static and atmospheric interference. Its "flip-flop" frequency display allows you to switch between pre-selected standby and active frequencies with the touch of a button.
Both frequencies are stored in a non-volatile memory circuit, meaning you don't have to worry about battery power.
