This is the Sopwith Camel F1 1917-1919 R D239 No.28 Squadron RAF Formed at Yatesbury, UK, and disbanded in January, 1920 at Eastleigh after serving in France and Italy. Motto: Whatsoever you may do, do A Sopwith Camel was responsible for shooting down the Fokker DR1 Red Baron on 21st April, 1918. This mdoel is faithfully reproduced in kiln dried Mahogany. Each is carved, joined and sanded by hand. The deep, rich finish that distinguishes these models from others is created by the application of up to 35 coats of enamel. The artist then hand paints all details onto each model. The final product is a beautiful authentic wooden aircraft. Comes with its own desk stand & FREE Brass name plate worth £5.95.
