The new WATSON W-2001 is a no-wires LCD display system that connects both to a local external sensor and to the Internet. You choose one of over 1,500 cities around the world to get a current and 5-day forecast. Choose your home city or you holiday resort. It is all displayed on the screen. Just press a button and the display updates. And with no wires, you can place the panel in the kitchen, lounge, bedroom etc. And of course you also get an accurate time and date display together with dual time alarms.
So how does it work? The LCD control panel operates from a couple of AA cells and has a built-in radio receiver to receive all the data. An outside temperature sensor connects by radio to give you the outside temperature. A USB radio transmitter dongle plugs into your PC. Any time your PC is connected to the Internet, the USB dongle updates your LCD weather screen every hour.. You tell your PC which city to choose and the data is instantly downloaded back to the LCD panel. This all takes place seamlessly in the background whilst your PC is used for other tasks. No need to load up the software each time. Every time your PC is turned on, the program works in the background.
